About Accreditation

Introduction to Accreditation

New Life Christian Schools and Colleges International Accreditation Association is organized for the benefit and advancement of private non-public, Christian schools who are in agreement with our faith. The US Department of Education has ruled that “there is not statutory authority for the Department to recognize any elementary through secondary accrediting agencies, including regional associations who accredit public schools.” Private (non-public) schools operate privately and are regulated accordingly. They are not licensed, approved, accredited, or regulated as schools by the state. Accreditation is not a state function and state law does not require that private schools be accredited. Even though it is not required, many schools pursue accreditation as a show of their desire to achieve excellent standards. This is above and in addition to the state requirements for private schools. Private accreditation is not necessarily recognized by the state.

Purpose of Accreditation
The original purpose of accreditation in the United States was designed to encourage the standardization of secondary school programs, primarily to ensure for the benefit of colleges and universities that graduating students had mastered a particular body of knowledge. However, today the process involves a dual purpose that continues the expectation that schools must be responsible and protect the trust placed in them to provide high quality learning opportunities, but with the added requirement that they demonstrate that they are about the business of education at its highest level and to make sure it’s for generations to come.

So the accreditation process is all about directing and sowing excellence in the elementary, secondary, adult, postsecondary and supplementary education programs we accredit. Our fundamental cause involves helping schools create the highest quality educational experience they can put into place for all the students involved in the program. It is NLCSCIAA's   purpose to support schools professionally in creating for themselves a direction of clarity of what they desire their students to know and be able to do and then to ensure that successful educational systems are in place that foresee the result in the fulfillment of those expectations.

The accreditation process enables schools to improve school performance based on an analysis of those strengths and limitations. Participating schools must meet high standards that reflect the elements of a quality. NLCSCIAA looks for the educational organization to improve on a constant level sharing its knowledge and building for a better tomorrow.
